Public Notices & Agency Updates
MESD Community,
Nurses and teachers at our schools embody the spirit of resilience. It shines through their exceptional support of students, families and the community during this time of need. Teachers have assisted in grocery and school-work pickups and deliveries. They’re not only tasked with providing distance learning to students, they also support families in navigating the process. Nurses have supported school-site pickups to hand out medications to families. They’re updating health records, providing medical information and mental health support. They’re sharing resources with community organizations, including child-care centers. The extraordinary efforts of our nurses and teachers reflect the heart of the MESD community. In these challenging times, where it’s easy to become disconnected, it’s important that we recognize the efforts of our colleagues to provide support and stability to our students, families, and communities. Please join me during Teacher Appreciation Week (May 4-8) and on School Nurse Day (May 6) in showing the deepest gratitude and celebrating their dedication to public service. Sam MESD Community,
We are in unusual times, but one thing hasn't changed - whether it's in person or at a distance, MESD administrative professionals bring skill, passion, and dedication to their work. I know how critical they've been during this closure and am grateful for everything they do day in and day out. MESD administrative professionals are incredible. Please join me in expressing our gratitude on this day of recognition. Thank you to all the wonderful MESD administrative professionals! Sam Breyer Budget Officer Multnomah Education Service District www.multnomahesd.org 2019-20 30-Day Notice for Statewide Tests12/17/2019 In 2010, Oregon adopted higher K-12 standards in English Language Arts and Math to ensure all students move from grade to grade with the academic knowledge and skills necessary for success beyond high school. Because we raised the bar for what we expect students to know and be able to do, we have also changed the way we measure student progress through our state tests, known as Smarter Balanced.
